Ginger wine

Ginger wine is go!  Brew number two of the year…  We decided to try a bit of an experiment and made two different batches of wine using two different recipes.  Mine was this one (scroll down until you get to the post on Judith’s Ginger Wine), though I tripled the ginger and made the water up to a gallon.  Hedvig used a recipe from the wonderful book below.

If you’re struggling to read the title it says ‘Home Made Wines, Syrups and Cordials 1956‘ and it was published by the National Federation of Women’s Institutes.

I’m really excited to see how different our wines turn out.  Mine involved banana – actually, several bananas.  I remain unconvinced about this particular addition…
